Today we begin a study on what many scholars deem the most neglected book of the New Testament: Jude. There are three reasons given for this neglect: Jude is brief; Jude is odd; and the third reason may be the largest: the topic of Jude is judgment. Jude doesn’t mince words with his audience describing the horrors which come to those who live in ungodliness; we will turn to that topic which dominates the book next week. This week, we have an introduction to the author, the audience & the problem of the book. We should notice how author portrays these, and we will learn a lesson this week: We must know & fight for the gospel against intruders.
